Sino-European Finance Summit 2026 in Beijing

The Sino-European Finance Summit 2026 was held in Beijing on 15 September 2026, jointly organised by the BVI and the Bank of China. Around 280 participants, including asset managers, banks and exchanges from across China and Europe, attended the event. European speakers included representatives from the Deutsche Bundesbank, the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad, Deutsche Börse, Allianz Global Investors, DWS, Universal Investment, Fidelity, and EFAMA. We extend our thanks to our Executive Sponsor, E Fund, and to our sponsors Allianz Global Investors and DWS for their support.

The programme and photographs can be found below.

The Summit is the only global Sino-European dialogue platform bringing together representatives from the financial industry, regulatory authorities, and policymakers. Its aim is to facilitate financial policy dialogue in both directions. It is organized by the German Investment Funds Association BVI and Bank of China. The Summit is held alternately in Frankfurt and Beijing.

It was successfully launched in Frankfurt in 2025 to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union (see the 2025 review). Since then, it has served as an important forum for strengthening mutual understanding and promoting constructive exchange between the two regions.

The idea for the Sino-European Finance Summit originated with the BVI. Germany, with assets exceeding EUR 5 trillion, is Europe’s largest and a highly sophisticated fund market, home to some 600 asset managers from 40 countries. China’s fund market is expanding rapidly, reaching over EUR 9 trillion in assets under management. Interest in accessing each other’s markets is growing steadily.
