EFAMA standard questionnaire for index providers

Since February 2014, guidelines issued by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) have set new requirements for transparency and the verification of the eligibility of financial indices. They apply to all UCITS investing either in financial indices or in structured products whose underlying is a financial index. With the EFAMA questionnaire for index providers, fund companies can check whether the index provider complies with the ESMA guidelines. The advantages for

• Index provider: You can use a uniform standard for filling and providing the information.
• Investment companies (KVGs): You receive a standardized template for exchange with other KVGs.
• Service providers (e.g. consulting companies): You can use the standard to query the information from the index providers in favor of the KVGs.
